PRESS RELEASE
In an exciting move for both groups, NACPAC merged with CPAC, Chronic
Pain Association of Canada) in the spring of 2004.The NACPAC office
is now closed, and CPAC will be fielding all enquiries that traditinally
would have gone to NACPAC. CPAC has some very enthusiastic people
on board including Barry Ulmer who is the Executive Director, and
Heather Divine who is the President.
Traditionally CPAC has concentrated on pain awareness lobbying
the government and other organizations, where as NACPAC concentrated
on assisting people who live with chronic pain through local support
groups. CPAC will now be working towards both of those goals.
Terry Bremner, formerly the vice president of NACPAC and the support
group development officer, has agreed to continue his work with
support groups and you may contact him through CPAC. There are now
over eighteen support groups across Canada, and we expect that the
growth will continue.
I trust that all of you who supported NACPAC will continue with
the new organization and help us help the people who are living
with chronic pain.
"please contact CPAC for all questions concerning
registration, and renewal of memberships as well as support group
inquiries. "
Best wishes to all,
Helen Tupper, Former president of NACPAC and
Terry Bremner, Former Vice President of NACAPC
